Does your practice focus on long rallies crosscourt and consistency drills?
How often do you actually practice the serve and return?
If you’re like most players then I would imagine that most of the time you’re just hitting and rallying.
Then when you go on the court for a game, you keep coming up short.
It’s time to change that.
I learned from Craig O’Shannessy ATP/WTA and former Djokovic coach that…
“0-4 Shots = 70%
5-8 Shots = 20%
9+ Shots = 10%
The First 4 Shots are specifically the serve, return, Serve +1 groundstroke, and Return +1 groundstroke. Those are normally the shots that get practiced the least, but matter the most to winning tennis matches.”
So I created a drill that would work on those shots. And we gamified it so it would be fun.
